Writing Advice Roundup: Butt In Chair, Hands On Keyboard

I’ve been asked on many occasions how I write so much. At the time of this post, I have only published one book, but bear in mind that my day job is all about writing—and on top of writing my own books, I also write all of my own posts (like this one) and other content. The iceberg representing how much I actually write is a little staggering when I think about it (and I try not to!).

The advice I tend to give for those struggling to put words on the page is to just write. Spit out whatever it is you’re trying to communicate, in any fashion—even if it’s just a list of events or the most boring, dry narration you’ve ever seen. Outlining ahead of time also helps with gathering your thoughts. It doesn’t matter if it looks pretty, just get in the habit of putting words down. You can always revise. Here are some great resources that go into more detail.
